About CGP files
The .CGP file is primarily used as a proprietary game data file for the Call of Duty franchise. It stores player profiles, loadout data, offline multiplayer statistics, and game settings. A secondary common use is as a Cg Shader Preset file for the RetroArch emulator, which configures visual filters for retro gaming. Other legacy uses include Canon Easy-PhotoPrint album projects and CELSYS ComicStudio page management files. Opening these files natively requires the original software, which presents significant challenges. Call of Duty data files are typically binary-encoded, tied strictly to specific game versions like Black Ops Cold War or Modern Warfare 3, and cannot be opened with standard text editors.
