The .cgp extension serves multiple distinct technical roles, primarily functioning as a game data or settings file for the Call of Duty franchise (including Black Ops, Modern Warfare, and Ghosts). In this context, the file stores player statistics, loadouts, and campaign progress. The main limitation of these game files is their proprietary nature; they are often binary-encoded or checksum-protected, making them impossible to open with standard text editors or convert directly to common formats like DOCX or PDF without corruption.
