.LDW files typically serve as game save states for Virtual Villagers developed by LDW Software. Alternatively, in engineering contexts, they function as proprietary 3D furniture design drawings created by BAZIS-CAD. A third use is as a digital document archive for Lexware business software.
Users often need to convert these files because standard operating systems and web browsers cannot open them. BAZIS-CAD drawings require an expensive, localized software license to view or edit. Game saves are strictly locked to the game engine and are completely useless for standard data viewing.
