About JDP files
The .JDP extension primarily identifies Jingdiao JDPaint project files, a specialized CAD/CAM format widely used in CNC engraving and relief sculpting. These files store intricate 3D geometries, toolpaths, and vector data optimized for Jingdiao CNC machinery.
The Problem: JDP files are proprietary and notoriously difficult to access outside the native JDPaint environment. They are incompatible with standard 3D suites like Blender or AutoCAD, and newer versions often break compatibility with older viewers. This lock-in makes it challenging to share designs with clients, archive projects, or send toolpaths to non-Jingdiao machines.
The Solution: To unlock the data, users typically convert .JDP files. For 3D printing, rapid prototyping, or rendering, the best target is STL or OBJ. For 2D vector editing in software like Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW, convert to DXF or EPS.
Secondary Use (Agriculture): A subset of .JDP files are John Deere job data packages used in precision farming. These are often renamed ZIP containers holding XML data. Farmers frequently need to convert these proprietary logs into CSV, XLSX, or SHP (Shapefile) to analyze yield data in Microsoft Excel or GIS software without relying on the John Deere Operations Center.
Convert.Guru analyzes your JDP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted JPG, JPD, JDB, JPEG, ZIP, ENG, PDF, AC6, PNG, HEIC, DXF, NC and CRDOWNLOAD files.
The JDP Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our JDP converter.
