About AC6 files
.AC6 files primarily function as ArtCut 6 Documents used by Wentai Artcut software for vinyl cutting plotters. A secondary use is for Aircraft performance data in Lufthansa Systems PPS. You need the original ArtCut software to reliably open or edit the plotter designs. The .AC6 format is a closed, proprietary vector format. It is notoriously difficult to work with outside of the Artcut ecosystem. The files cannot be opened by modern web browsers or standard vector editors like Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW. Users often struggle because the software requires physical dongles, and legacy versions do not run well on modern operating systems. Users typically want to convert these files to standard vector formats like SVG, EPS, or DXF to use them in modern CNC or laser cutting software. However, converting directly from the file without the original export tool often results in lost scaling, missing paths, or corrupted curves. Because .AC6 is a proprietary binary format, standard online converters fail to process it. Only the original Artcut software can properly interpret the internal cut path data.
