About SB3 files

The .sb3 file is a project archive created by Scratch 3.0, a visual programming environment developed by the MIT Media Lab. These files act as containers (formatted internally as ZIP archives) that hold all the resources for a Scratch project, including block-based scripts, JSON metadata, and multimedia assets like SVG sprites and WAV audio.

While .sb3 files act as the source code for interactive stories, games, and animations, they suffer from significant platform dependency. They cannot be executed directly by an operating system (like an EXE or APP), nor can they be played by standard media players.
