About SB3 files

The .SB3 format is a Scratch 3.0 project file created by the MIT Media Lab. It is primarily used to store interactive stories, games, and animations built with block-based visual programming. These files are natively created and opened using the Scratch web platform or offline desktop editor. The internal structure of an .SB3 file is actually a compressed ZIP archive containing a master project.json file for the logic, along with individual SVG, PNG, and WAV media assets. The main disadvantage of the .SB3 format is its strict reliance on the Scratch runtime environment. You cannot execute the file natively in a standard web browser or share it as a standalone executable without an external player.
