A .FW3 file is primarily a Framework III Document created by Ashton-Tate Framework III, a pioneering MS-DOS integrated office suite released in the 1980s. A secondary use for the .FW3 extension is a Firmware III update file used by Ag Leader Technology for agricultural hardware.
The main disadvantage of the .FW3 format is extreme obsolescence. It is a proprietary, closed binary format built for MS-DOS.
