Convert a file to FLW
To convert other file formats to the "Cable Test Report" file type, you need software like Fluke Networks LinkWare or a similar tool.
About FLW files
The .FLW format is predominantly used by Fluke Networks LinkWare PC to store cable test management projects and network certification reports. These files contain comprehensive diagnostics for copper and fiber optic cabling, typically wrapping the data in an internal SQL or JetDB database structure. A smaller percentage of .FLW files act as flowchart diagrams for software like Kivio, ComponentAce FlowChartX, or the Blackmagic Design Fusion visual effects tool.
The biggest disadvantage of the .FLW format is its highly proprietary nature. Opening a Fluke Networks report typically requires installing the heavy, Windows-only LinkWare PC software. This makes sharing critical test results with clients or field technicians who use Mac, Linux, or mobile devices extremely frustrating. Furthermore, because these files are structured as locked databases rather than flat documents, standard online converters usually fail to interpret the testing data.
To make these reports universally accessible, you should convert them to standard formats like PDF for client-facing documentation, or CSV and TXT to extract the raw test metrics. Converting to PDF preserves the visual layout of the network certification, while CSV is ideal for ingesting the diagnostic data into other enterprise systems.
Because .FLW is a closed, proprietary format, converting it directly without the original software is notoriously difficult. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the specific test data or diagram elements. Our tool can inspect the file's internal hex data and show embedded text. If our analysis detects a supported underlying structure - like an uncompressed SQL database or a standard ZIP-based flowchart wrapper - viewing or extraction may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your FLW file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert FLW file to INDD, QXP, PUB, PMD, PM6, PM7, PM8, PM9, PM10, PM11, OMP or P65, you can use Fluke Networks LinkWare or similar software from the "Cable Test Management Project" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….

The FLW Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our FLW converter.
