About EZP files
The .EZP file extension represents a split ecosystem, primarily serving as a project archive for Grass Valley EDIUS, a professional non-linear video editing suite. In this context, the file functions as a container (often a renamed ZIP archive) that holds the project timeline, edit decision lists, and references to media assets. Users often encounter friction here: an .EZP file is not a playable video. You cannot upload it to YouTube or play it in VLC Media Player because it contains instructions for editing rather than rendered video data. To share this content, you must open the project in EDIUS and export (render) it to a standard format like MP4 (H.264) for web use or MOV (ProRes) for archiving.
Alternatively, .EZP files identify label designs created with Ezpl Pro (often associated with Barcodesoft or Zebra printing workflows). These files store proprietary layout information for barcodes, text, and graphics. Without the original designing software, these files are unusable 'digital paperweights.' To make these accessible for proofing or generic printing, the best workflow is converting the design layout into a PDF document or a high-resolution PNG image.
Convert.Guru analyzes your EZP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted EZPX, PDF, JPG, EPJ, DXF, EPS, PNG, BTW, EZD, EXE, ZIP and TPD files.
The EZP Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our EZP converter.
