To convert other file formats to the "Scientific Data & Game Animation" file type, you need software like DIFFRAC.EVA or a similar tool.
About EVA files
The .eva file extension is heavily fragmented and lacks a single standardized use. It most commonly functions as a 3D animation file for the Eudemons Vision game engine, or as highly specialized scientific data used by Bruker X-ray diffraction (XRD) software. Additionally, .eva files are used by Retrosheet to store detailed pitch-by-pitch baseball game event data, or by SMC Merytronic equipment for raw electrical test measurements.
Handling .eva files is notoriously frustrating because the file extension provides zero clues about its internal structure. A Bruker powder diffraction .eva file might be formatted as a ZIP archive, a plain XML file, or a proprietary Microsoft Compound document. This unpredictability forces researchers into expensive software ecosystems just to read their own data. Similarly, game animation .eva files are locked into obsolete or highly specific game engine pipelines, making them completely unreadable in modern tools like Blender. Baseball event files from Retrosheet are essentially raw text that requires custom scripts or manual parsing to be useful for modern analytics.
To escape vendor lock-in and utilize your data, format conversion is mandatory. For scientific, electrical, and baseball data, converting .eva to CSV, XML, or TXT is the most practical choice, allowing immediate analysis in Microsoft Excel or Python. For game assets, extracting the models to standard FBX or GLTF formats is required for 3D editing and archiving.
Convert.Guru analyzes your EVA file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert EVA file to MP3, WAV, AAC, FLAC, OGG, WMA, M4A, AIFF, OPUS, ALAC, APE or WV, you can use DIFFRAC.EVA or similar software from the "Animation & Scientific Data" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert MIDI, AAC, TTA, AU, WV, DTS, MID, FLAC, RA, MP3, PCM or WAV files to EVA, try DIFFRAC.EVA or another comparable tool in the "Animation & Scientific Data" category.
The EVA Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our EVA converter.
