About PCO files
The .pco file format is predominantly used as a medical device case data file by Physio-Control defibrillators and monitors (such as the LIFEPAK series). It utilizes a Microsoft Compound file structure to securely store complex physiological data, ECG rhythms, and patient event logs. These files are typically viewed using Physio-Control CaseView or CODE-STAT data review software. Secondary, less common uses for the .pco extension include legacy PC-Outline files, GNSS survey data from CHC Navigation, patient calibration data for Radiometer blood gas analyzers, and game physics configuration files for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
The primary medical .pco format is highly proprietary and inaccessible without expensive, specialized medical software. Medical professionals and IT staff often struggle to share these files with standard hospital electronic health record (EHR) systems or attach them to standard patient charts because generic operating systems simply cannot read them. Furthermore, legacy .pco files (like those from PC-Outline) require DOS emulators to open.
To make the data useful for general archiving, EHR integration, or sharing, you must convert it. For clinical documentation and printing, convert to PDF. For data analysis of event logs, extracting the data to CSV or XML is highly recommended. Drop your file here to view and convert it securely right in your browser.

The PCO Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our PCO converter.
