About ET files

An .ET file is a spreadsheet document created by WPS Office (formerly Kingsoft Office). It stores tabular data, formulas, charts, and macros. Structurally, the vast majority of .ET files use the Microsoft Compound File Binary Format, while some template variations utilize a ZIP-compressed XML structure.

The primary disadvantage of the .ET format is vendor lock-in. Because it is proprietary to Kingsoft, standard tools like Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets refuse to open it natively. Sharing an .ET file with clients or colleagues often creates friction, forcing them to download the WPS Office suite, which may include unwanted software or ads in its free tier. For uninterrupted editing in any modern spreadsheet application, convert your .ET file to XLSX. If you only need the raw data to import into a database or a Python script, convert it to CSV. To permanently lock formatting for archiving, printing, or sharing financial reports, convert the file to PDF.

Convert.Guru analyzes your ET file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted BIN, $ET, EL, ETT, ETE, ETF, ETL, ETH, PDF, ZIP, JPG, TSX and DPS files.
