The .ESK file format is highly fragmented, serving several completely unrelated purposes. The most common use case is an Electric scooter data log file generated by Ninebot or Segway e-scooters. However, it is also frequently used as an Energy saving concept project by Hottgenroth Energieberater software, a business process data package by Esker software, or a 3D game character skeleton file in the Dragon Ball Xenoverse series.
The primary disadvantage of the .ESK format is this extreme fragmentation. Standard word processors or image viewers cannot open these files. Furthermore, they are proprietary data containers. For example, a Ninebot data log contains encrypted or tightly structured telemetry data, while a Dragon Ball skeleton file contains specific bone coordinate mapping. Opening them usually requires the exact original software, which can be expensive or highly specialized. This makes typical conversion tasks frustrating.
Converting an .ESK file depends entirely on its origin. If you have a datalogger file, you ideally want to convert it to CSV or TXT to read the data in Microsoft Excel. If it is an energy project or business package, these are often just disguised ZIP or GZIP archives. Standard online converters almost always fail with .ESK files because they cannot guess which of the five different formats your file actually is.
