About DAS files
The .DAS file extension primarily functions as a game save file generated by the BioWare Dragon Age series (including Origins and Inquisition). Additionally, it serves as a Doodly Asset Storage bundle utilized by the Doodly whiteboard animation software. In specialized scientific fields, .DAS files represent Fluorescence decay data generated by HORIBA DataStation or PicoQuant analysis software.
The main disadvantage of .DAS files is their highly proprietary and fragmented nature. Because a single extension is shared across completely unrelated industries, identifying the correct software is challenging. Game saves are useless outside the game engine and tightly locked. Doodly asset bundles, which utilize an internal JSON structure, cannot be rendered into video without an active subscription. Scientific data logs often rely on a Microsoft Compound binary structure that standard spreadsheet applications cannot read.
Because of these closed environments, standard online converters fail to process .DAS files. You cannot simply convert a video game save state into a JPG or PDF.
Convert.Guru analyzes your DAS file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert DAS file to NAS, CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT or DB, you can use BioWare Dragon Age or similar software from the "Game Save & Asset Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to DAS, try BioWare Dragon Age or another comparable tool in the "Game Save & Asset Storage" category.
The DAS Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our DAS converter.
