About ES files
An .es file is primarily a vector cutting plot file used by professional sign-making software like EasySign and EuroSYSTEMS CoCut. It stores vector paths, curves, and toolpath instructions required by vinyl cutters and CNC machines. In other contexts, an .es file functions as an encrypted backup created by the ES File Explorer app for Android, an Elasticsearch snapshot, a script for SageCRM, or a game save file for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Occasionally, it is simply a standard PDF or MHTML document with a modified extension.
The main disadvantage of .es cutting plot files is their proprietary nature. They are closed formats securely locked to specific, expensive sign-making software ecosystems. Users without an active software license cannot view the vector paths or send them to a plotter. For encrypted .es files generated by ES File Explorer, the disadvantage is the absolute reliance on a specific, largely discontinued Android app to decrypt the data.
Users typically need to convert .es vector files to standard formats like SVG, EPS, or DXF to open them in mainstream vector graphics editors like Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW. Converting encrypted .es backup files requires decryption first, meaning the target formats completely depend on the original file type hidden inside the encrypted container.
Because .es vector files contain proprietary toolpath metadata and lack public documentation, standard online converters fail to process them. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format - such as a mislabeled PDF or MHTML archive - viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your ES file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert ES file to SPX, SPY, EXE, MSI, APP, DMG, DEB, RPM, PKG, RUN, SH or BAT, you can use EasySign or similar software from the "Vector Cutting Plot Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert JAR, APP, SCR, IPA, COM, AAB, PS1, DMG, VBS, EXE, XAPK or MSI files to ES, try EasySign or another comparable tool in the "Vector Cutting Plot Storage" category.
The ES Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our ES converter.
