Convert CTI to another file type
To convert CTI CT scans to another format, you need MicroDicom or other Raster Image software.
Convert a file to CTI
To convert other file formats to the "DICOM Medical Image" file type, you need software like MicroDicom or a similar tool.
About CTI files
A .CTI file is primarily a DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) formatted medical image file containing data from a Computed Tomography (CT) scan. These files store raw, high-resolution slice data of human anatomy, often bundled with sensitive patient metadata. Secondary uses for the .CTI extension include text-based bus repaint configuration files for OMSI: The Bus Simulator, and Camera Transport Interface executable libraries (EXE or ELF) used by the GenICam machine vision standard.
The main disadvantage of medical .CTI files is their severe lack of accessibility. Standard web browsers and built-in operating system image viewers cannot read the proprietary DICOM headers or render the 16-bit pixel data. Viewing them requires downloading specialized and heavy medical software like MicroDicom or OsiriX. Furthermore, these files frequently exceed several hundred megabytes for a full 3D scan and contain unencrypted Patient Health Information (PHI), making them difficult and risky to share directly via email or standard cloud storage.
To share scan results with patients, researchers, or legal teams, you must convert the file. For web viewing and general sharing, convert .CTI to JPG or PNG. For archiving or embedding in medical reports, convert to PDF. Our tool extracts the visual data while providing a realistic, pragmatic workaround for incompatible proprietary formats.
Convert.Guru analyzes your CTI file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert CTI file to YAML, INI, CFG, CONF, CONFIG, JSON, XML, YML, TOML, ENV, PROPERTIES or RC, you can use MicroDicom or similar software from the "Medical CT Scan Imaging" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert ZSHRC, CONF, RCFILE, GITCONFIG, RC, PLIST, BASHRC, CONFIG, PROFILE, INI, PREFS or CFG files to CTI, try MicroDicom or another comparable tool in the "Medical CT Scan Imaging" category.
The CTI Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our CTI converter.
