Internally, these files often use the MKV video format but are wrapped in a proprietary extension to ensure chain of custody for CCTV footage. A secondary, rarer use for .cme files is as a compressed mind map document, structured as a ZIP archive, used by CS Odessa ConceptDraw MINDMAP or MetaMoJi Note.
Because the primary .cme format is designed for strict security environments, it requires dedicated standalone software like a specific CME Viewer to open. This is highly restrictive.
