About CLM files
The .CLM file extension is a fragmented format used across multiple different industries. Most commonly, it stores climate data for simulation software like EnergyPlus and TRNSYS. In the medical field, it represents EDI 837 healthcare claim files based on the ANSI ASC X12 standard. Additionally, it functions as a custom level map in Unity-based games like Creativerse, or as a Community Land Model data file in GIS applications like ArcGIS Pro. The main disadvantage of the .CLM format is its lack of standardization. Because multiple programs use the exact same extension for completely different types of data, your operating system will often fail to open it. Standard converters cannot process a .CLM file without knowing its exact origin.
