Convert a file to ESO
To convert other file formats to the "Simulation & Telemetry Data" file type, you need software like EnergyPlus or a similar tool.
About ESO files
The .ESO file extension primarily represents Traffic Enforcement Camera Data and EnergyPlus Building Energy Simulation Output. In traffic enforcement, ESO GmbH uses these files within its ESOWin software to store proprietary, legally restricted telemetry and image data from speed cameras. Alternatively, EnergyPlus generates .ESO files to store standard output reports detailing heating, cooling, and lighting metrics. Another variation includes ZIP-compressed Construction Tender Bid Documents used within the Swiss CRB standard by Messerli Informatik. Finally, legacy Microsoft FoxPro uses the extension for compiled program object files. You usually need to convert .ESO files to analyze raw data in external tools. EnergyPlus outputs are often converted to CSV or TXT to be graphed in spreadsheets. However, the traffic camera and FoxPro variations are highly proprietary, closed-source, and strictly controlled, requiring the original software to open. Standard online converters fail with .ESO files because they lack specific decoders for these niche, proprietary formats. Even if direct conversion is impossible, our tool can safely inspect the file, extract embedded text, or decompress it if it matches the ZIP-based construction tender format.
Convert.Guru analyzes your ESO file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert ESO file to CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT, DB or SQL, you can use EnergyPlus or similar software from the "Data Output & Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to ESO, try EnergyPlus or another comparable tool in the "Data Output & Storage" category.
The ESO Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our ESO converter.
