About B6I files
A .B6I file is a proprietary disc image created by version 6 of BlindWrite, a backup utility developed by VSO Software. These files serve as exact sector-by-sector copies of optical media (CDs or DVDs), often used to backup copy-protected games or software. The B6I format typically functions as part of a split-file system, requiring a companion B6T (BlindWrite 6 Track) file to define the disc's geometry and track layout.
Because BlindWrite is considered legacy software, B6I files present significant compatibility hurdles for modern users. Windows 11 and macOS cannot mount these files natively, forcing users to rely on third-party emulation tools like Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120% just to view the contents. Additionally, if the accompanying B6T file is lost, the B6I image may become unreadable. To solve these accessibility issues, it is highly recommended to convert B6I files to the universal ISO format for general use and mounting. For archiving purposes where sub-channel data must be preserved, converting to the BIN and CUE standard is the ideal solution.
Convert.Guru analyzes your B6I file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted B6T, BWI, ZIP, G3D, LSM, PANO, TNL and ISO files.
The B6I Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our B6I converter.
