Convert POM to another file type
To convert POM project files to another format, you need Apache Maven or other Developer software.
Convert a file to POM
To convert other file formats to the "Project Object Model" file type, you need software like Apache Maven or a similar tool.
About POM files
The .POM file extension is most commonly a Project Object Model file used by Apache Maven. These files are written in standard XML and contain configuration details, project dependencies, and plugins required to build Java applications. Alternatively, .POM files can be legacy Palm OS Memo documents, obsolete Nokia Picture on the Move images, or Navigation Point of Interest (POI) data for GPS devices like those from Garmin.
For developers, Maven .POM files are typically opened with code editors or IDEs such as IntelliJ IDEA or Eclipse. However, if you are not a developer, reading raw XML code is difficult and prone to accidental syntax errors. If you have a legacy Palm OS Memo .POM file, the situation is much worse: these use an outdated Microsoft Compound document structure that requires dead software like Palm Desktop to open, effectively locking you out of your own historical notes.
To make these files accessible, conversion is the most practical workaround. For Maven files, convert to TXT or JSON for easier reading and documentation sharing. For trapped Palm OS Memos, convert to DOCX or PDF/A to permanently archive your text. For old Nokia mobile images, convert to PNG or JPG for modern web compatibility. Drop your file here to view and convert it securely right in your browser.
Convert.Guru analyzes your POM file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert POM file to GRADLE, JAR, JS, TS, PY, JAVA, CPP, C, CS, PHP, RB or GO, you can use Apache Maven or similar software from the "Maven Build Configuration" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert SH, PY, KT, PS1, SWIFT, LUA, PL, JAVA, SCALA, JS, VBS or TS files to POM, try Apache Maven or another comparable tool in the "Maven Build Configuration" category.
The POM Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our POM converter.
