About AIT files
An .AIT file is an Adobe Illustrator Template, used to generate multiple vector design files (AI) with consistent pre-defined settings, artboards, and styles. These files are essential for branding workflows where designers need to replicate layouts without overwriting the original master file. However, .AIT files present significant compatibility hurdles: they are strictly proprietary, requiring a paid subscription to Adobe Illustrator to open or edit natively. They cannot be viewed in standard web browsers or generic image viewers, making them difficult to share with clients or team members who lack Creative Cloud access. Additionally, mobile support is virtually non-existent. To overcome these limitations, users should convert .AIT files based on their immediate needs: convert to PDF for universal viewing and proofing, SVG for scalable web usage, or PNG for quick raster previews. For legacy vector editing in other software, converting to EPS is often the most reliable method.
Convert.Guru analyzes your AIT file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert AIT file to PSD, AI, SVG, PDF, PNG, EPS, JPG, CDR, WMF, EMF, SWF or FLA, you can use Adobe Illustrator or similar software from the "Vector Graphics Template" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert AFPUB, EPS, FIG, VSD, SKETCH, VDX, AFPHOTO, PDF, AFDESIGN, SVG, VSDX or AI files to AIT, try Adobe Illustrator or another comparable tool in the "Vector Graphics Template" category.
The AIT Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our AIT converter.
