About XSP files
The .XSP file format serves multiple highly specialized functions across different industries. Most commonly, it is a Woodworking CAD/CAM macro file used by DDX Software to store CNC machine instructions. Alternatively, it can be a cross-stitch design pattern created in Cross Stitch Professional Platinum, an XML-based smart playlist used by the Kodi Media Center, an IBM Domino XPages web file, or an EDS X-ray spectrum file from Thermo Scientific NORAN.
You need the specific native software to open an .XSP file as intended. For CAD macros, use DDX EasyWood. For playlists, use Kodi. For patterns, use Cross Stitch Professional Platinum. For server pages, the IBM (now HCL) Domino platform is required.
The major disadvantage of the .XSP format is its severe fragmentation. Because one extension is shared by vastly different proprietary systems, users often receive an .XSP file and have no idea which application generated it. Sending a DDX CAD macro or an EDS X-ray spectrum file to a client without the expensive native software means they cannot open, review, or verify the data. Furthermore, cross-stitch patterns are locked inside a closed ecosystem, making them impossible to view on standard mobile devices or web browsers.
For CAD macros, converting the underlying instructions to DXF or PDF is ideal for universal viewing. Cross-stitch patterns should be converted to JPG or PDF so anyone can read the chart. Kodi playlists can be converted to standard M3U playlists. Note that converting interactive elements like machine macros or smart playlists into static formats will result in the loss of automation and machine-readable instructions.
Because many .XSP formats are closed and proprietary, standard online converters fail to process them. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the exact data structure. However, many .XSP files use standard underlying formats like ZIP, XML, or PDF. Our platform can parse the file signature, inspect the hidden structure, and extract text or embedded media even when traditional tools fail.
Convert.Guru analyzes your XSP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted XPS, PNG, IBFS, SWL and FAV files.

The XSP Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our XSP converter.
