About XRDML files
The .XRDML file format is an XML-based standard developed by Malvern Panalytical (formerly PANalytical) for storing X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurement data. Unlike older binary formats like RD, .XRDML stores instrument settings, sample history, and scan data in a structured text format. While the underlying structure is human-readable XML, the files are often verbose and complex, making them difficult to interpret without parsing tools. Users often struggle because standard text editors cannot visualize the diffraction patterns, and specialized software like Highscore Plus is expensive and often locked to specific lab computers. To analyze the $2\theta$ (2-theta) vs. Intensity data in tools like Origin, Microsoft Excel, or Python, it is highly recommended to convert .XRDML to CSV or XY (ASCII) formats. For archiving or sharing results with colleagues who lack scientific software, converting the visual plot to PDF or PNG ensures accessibility.
Convert.Guru analyzes your XRDML file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted XY, BRML, RAW, TXT, RD, XRDMP, CSV, ASC, DOKUMEN DARI AFRIANTO MF, XLSX, HPF2, XRD and ZIP files.
The XRDML Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our XRDML converter.
