A .vna file most commonly holds measurement data from a Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) manufactured by Anritsu Corporation. Engineers use these files to store radio frequency (RF) and microwave network testing results. In other contexts, .vna files are used by the verinice Information Security Management System (ISMS) as compressed project archives, by UCINET NetDraw for social network graphs, or by the Seal Online video game for configuration data.
Because the .vna extension serves so many different, highly specialized programs, sharing these files is a major hassle. If a colleague does not have an expensive Anritsu VNA Master, an active verinice installation, or MATLAB configured for vibration analysis, they cannot open the file.
