Convert a file to VFZ
To convert other file formats to the "3D CAD Archive" file type, you need software like vFlat or a similar tool.
About VFZ files
A .vfz file is primarily a compressed archive used either as a 3D CAD visualization package by VsaVEO VIZview or as a document backup by the vFlat mobile scanning app. Internally, the vast majority of these files are standard ZIP archives masked with a proprietary extension to force them to open in their native applications.
The main disadvantage of the .vfz format is its obscure extension. Standard operating systems like Windows and macOS do not recognize it, leading to frustrating 'unsupported file' errors. Recipients who receive a .vfz file cannot easily view the 3D models or scanned documents without downloading the exact source software. Furthermore, these archives can become quite large and are entirely unsupported by web browsers.
To make the data usable, the best solution is to extract the archive to a standard ZIP folder, or convert the internal images and models into universal formats like PDF or JPG.
Because this is a closed, proprietary extension, standard online converters usually fail to process it. However, you can just drag and drop your file to convert.guru to identify the format, view its internal structure, and extract or convert it when possible. Our analysis can detect the underlying ZIP compression and safely extract the embedded files for you.

The VFZ Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our VFZ converter.
