Convert TSD to another file type
To convert your TSD file to another format, you need ArubaSign or other Encoded software.
Convert a file to TSD
To convert other file formats to the "Digital Signature Container" file type, you need software like ArubaSign or a similar tool.
About TSD files
A .TSD file typically represents Time Stamped Data, a format widely used in digital cryptography to secure documents with a verified time-stamp. These files are containers that wrap an original document (often a PDF or XML) along with a digital signature and a timestamp complying with ETSI and RFC 3161 standards. This ensures the document existed at a specific moment and has not been altered since. A less common but significant variation is the Tekla Structural Designer file, used by engineers for 3D structural analysis and design.
A common issue with .TSD files is their inaccessibility. Because the content is encapsulated in a cryptographic wrapper, standard viewers like Adobe Acrobat or web browsers cannot display them directly. Users are often forced to install region-specific middleware like GoSign or ArubaSign just to view a simple invoice or contract. For Tekla users, the challenge is proprietary lock-in; sharing a .TSD model with a client who doesn't possess a license for Tekla Structural Designer is impossible without conversion.
To resolve these access issues, the best workflow is converting the file based on its origin:
For Digital Signatures: Convert or extract the container to PDF (Portable Document Format). This removes the wrapper while keeping the visual document intact for archiving, printing, and easy sharing via email.
For Tekla Models: Convert to IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) for BIM interoperability, allowing the structural data to be opened in Revit or Navisworks.
For Data/Map Files: If the source is a TomTom or Tab Saver file, converting to JSON or CSV renders the raw data readable for text editors.
Convert.Guru analyzes your TSD file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert TSD file to MP3, WAV, AAC, FLAC, OGG, WMA, M4A, AIFF, OPUS, ALAC, APE or WV, you can use ArubaSign or similar software from the "Time Stamped Digital Signature" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert MIDI, AAC, TTA, AU, WV, DTS, MID, FLAC, RA, MP3, PCM or WAV files to TSD, try ArubaSign or another comparable tool in the "Time Stamped Digital Signature" category.
The TSD Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our TSD converter.
