About TMD files
The .TMD file extension most commonly functions as a proprietary word processor document created by SoftMaker TextMaker. These files store formatted text, images, complex page layouts, and document metadata. In specific technical workflows, .TMD is also used as a 3D terrain project file for World Machine, a legacy PlayStation 3D model data format, or even a temporary database file for MySQL. The main disadvantage of the .TMD document format is its strict vendor lock-in. Because it is highly proprietary, users cannot open or edit .TMD files in standard applications like Microsoft Word or Google Docs without facing formatting errors or total failure. Furthermore, these files cannot be previewed natively in web browsers. To resolve these compatibility bottlenecks, conversion is required. For collaborative editing, convert your .TMD file to DOCX or ODT. If your goal is long-term archiving or printing, converting to PDF will perfectly preserve the layout.
Convert.Guru analyzes your TMD file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert TMD file to PDF, CIA, OBJ, FBX, DAE, 3DS, MAX, BLEND, MA, MB, C4D or STL, you can use SoftMaker TextMaker or similar software from the "Word Processing Document" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….

The TMD Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our TMD converter.
