Convert TC to another file type
To convert TC volumes to another format, you need VeraCrypt or other Data software.
Convert a file to TC
To convert other file formats to the "Encrypted Container or Data" file type, you need software like VeraCrypt or a similar tool.
About TC files
A .tc file typically functions as an encrypted virtual disk container, but it is also widely used to store traffic study data as JSON or automated software test cases as XML. Encrypted containers act like physical hard drives secured by passwords, while the data variants store structured text for specific applications.
You can open encrypted volumes using VeraCrypt, the modern successor to the discontinued TrueCrypt software. Traffic data requires the Traffic Counter mobile app, and test cases use Katalon Studio.
Users often want to convert .tc files because they are tied to niche or discontinued software. TrueCrypt volumes require specific legacy support to open, and the data variants use proprietary schemas that are not natively supported by web browsers or spreadsheet tools. If your file is an encrypted container, standard conversion is impossible; the file is a locked binary blob. If you have an XML or JSON-based .tc file, target formats include XML, JSON, CSV, or TXT for data parsing and reporting.
This file format is notoriously difficult to process because the extension is shared across completely different technologies. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format like XML or JSON, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your TC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert TC file to SC, TF, PKR, FAA, ISO, IMG, DMG, VHD, VMDK, VDI, HDD or QCOW, you can use VeraCrypt or similar software from the "Encrypted Volume & Data Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert VFD, DMG, OVA, IMA, VBOX, ADF, PVS, VHD, OVF, ISO, DSK or IMG files to TC, try VeraCrypt or another comparable tool in the "Encrypted Volume & Data Storage" category.
The TC Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our TC converter.
