About SWD files

A .SWD file most commonly represents either a Polish Cadastral Data Exchange (SWDE) file used by the GUGiK for land registry data, or an Adobe Flash Debug file generated by Adobe Animate (formerly Flash Professional). Due to extreme extension reuse across the tech industry, it is also found as a Nintendo DS audio container, an ArmCAD reinforcement schedule (which is internally a ZIP archive), or a StarWind Virtual SAN database (which functions as an SQLITE database). The .SWD format is highly fragmented and problematic. The Flash variant is obsolete, tied to dead software environments, and unusable in modern web browsers. The SWDE cadastral format is a highly specific Polish government standard that requires specialized GIS tools to parse accurately. The lack of standardized file headers means that operating systems cannot automatically detect which application should open the file. If you are dealing with SWDE data, converting it to SHP (Shapefile), GML, or GEOJSON is necessary for compatibility with modern GIS software like QGIS. Flash debug files cannot be converted into standard video formats like MP4 because they contain debug symbols and breakpoints, not video frames. ArmCAD schedules and StarWind databases can be extracted to TXT or CSV if the underlying archive or database structure is parsed. Standard online converters fail to process .SWD files because they blindly guess the format and cannot distinguish between these vastly different internal structures. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format like an SQLite database or ZIP archive, viewing or conversion may still be fully possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your SWD file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted SWRD, SDW, SWF, PNG, SAM, MPH and VTX files.

FAQ

If you want to convert SWD file to JS, TS, PY, JAVA, CPP, C, CS, PHP, RB, GO, RS or SWIFT, you can use QGIS or similar software from the "Data Exchange and Debugging" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….

To convert SH, PY, KT, PS1, SWIFT, LUA, PL, JAVA, SCALA, JS, VBS or TS files to SWD, try QGIS or another comparable tool in the "Data Exchange and Debugging" category.

The SWD Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our SWD converter.
