Convert a file to SWD
To convert other file formats to the "Cadastral Data Exchange" file type, you need software like Adobe Flash or a similar tool.
About SWD files
The .SWD filename extension is a classic example of a "homograph" in the digital world - one wrapper used by two completely unrelated industries. Most commonly, you are dealing with either a legacy Adobe Flash debug file or a Polish Cadastral data exchange file.
1. Flash Debug File (Legacy Web): created by older versions of Adobe Flash Professional, this file acts as a sidecar to the main SWF movie. It holds variable names, source code line numbers, and error-tracking data.
The Problem: It is not a video file. Users often find these in browser caches hoping to recover a lost animation, only to find they cannot open it in a media player. It requires the original Flash authoring environment to be useful.
Conversion Targets: Since it is structured data, it is best converted to TXT or XML to view the debug logs, though it cannot be converted back into a playable animation.
2. SWDE Cadastral Map (GIS/Geodesy): In Poland, the .SWD format (Standard Wymiany Danych Ewidencyjnych) is the standard for exchanging land registry and building data.
The Problem: This is a highly specialized text-based format often encoded in older character sets (like Mazovia), making it unreadable in standard text editors or global GIS software like ArcGIS.
Convert.Guru analyzes your SWD file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert SWD file to JS, TS, PY, JAVA, CPP, C, CS, PHP, RB, GO, RS or SWIFT, you can use Adobe Flash or similar software from the "Debug Info or GIS Data" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert SH, PY, KT, PS1, SWIFT, LUA, PL, JAVA, SCALA, JS, VBS or TS files to SWD, try Adobe Flash or another comparable tool in the "Debug Info or GIS Data" category.
The SWD Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our SWD converter.
