Convert STA to another file type
To convert STA statements to another format, you need TIBCO Statistica or other Data software.
Convert a file to STA
To convert other file formats to the "Financial Data & Statistics" file type, you need software like TIBCO Statistica or a similar tool.
About STA files
The .STA file extension is highly fragmented and serves completely different purposes depending on its origin. Its most common use is as a SWIFT MT940 electronic bank account statement. These files contain raw, structured financial transaction data exported by banks and used by accounting software like StarMoney, MultiCash, or enterprise ERP systems. Alternatively, .STA files function as statistical analysis spreadsheets created by TIBCO Statistica. In the engineering sector, .STA files act as text-based status logs for Abaqus finite element analysis, wind LiDAR measurement data, or state configurations for Anritsu and Keysight network hardware analyzers. Because .STA serves so many unrelated purposes, dealing with these files is notoriously frustrating. The SWIFT MT940 bank statement format relies on rigid, non-intuitive text tags that are unreadable to the average user and cannot be natively parsed by modern web browsers. Meanwhile, Statistica .STA files are locked in a proprietary binary format requiring an expensive commercial license to open. Hardware state files are highly machine-specific and often lock users into specific proprietary ecosystems. To make this data useful, conversion is mandatory. For banking .STA files, you should convert them to CSV or XLSX to easily map transactions into columns for viewing in Microsoft Excel. For archiving financial records, convert to PDF/A. If you have a Statistica data file, exporting to CSV or JSON ensures cross-compatibility with modern data science tools like Python or R.
Convert.Guru analyzes your STA file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert STA file to CSV, PDF, TXT, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF or DAT, you can use TIBCO Statistica or similar software from the "Bank Statements & Statistical Data" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to STA, try TIBCO Statistica or another comparable tool in the "Bank Statements & Statistical Data" category.
The STA Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our STA converter.
