An .SSP file can serve several highly specialized roles depending on the software that created it. The most common use is as a drive parameter setup file for Danfoss VLT Drives, managed using their MCT 10 software. It is also widely used as a process document in UiPath Task Capture, and as a music production project file for Serato Studio.
The Problem:
Because .SSP files belong to disjointed software ecosystems, opening them can be frustrating. Danfoss configuration files are proprietary and useless without the exact VLT drive model or MCT 10 software installed. UiPath Task Capture files are essentially ZIP archives containing images and XML metadata; without UiPath, you cannot easily view the process flow. Serato Studio files are structured as JSON text and do not actually contain audio - they merely point to external sound files on your hard drive, meaning sharing the .SSP file alone will result in missing media errors.
The Solution:
To make these files accessible, conversion or extraction is necessary.
- For UiPath process files, export them directly from the software to DOCX (for documentation) or BPMN (for business process modeling). If you do not have UiPath, rename the extension to ZIP to extract the raw screenshots and XML data.
- For Danfoss parameters, exporting the data to CSV or TXT is best for reviewing values in a spreadsheet, while PDF is ideal for archiving drive settings.
- For Serato Studio projects, you cannot directly convert the .SSP file to audio. You must open it in Serato and render the project to WAV or MP3.
