About SSG files
The .ssg file extension is primarily used for 3D Scene Snapshots in Adobe Dimension and save data for the open-source fan game Sonic Robo Blast 2. It is also occasionally used as memory modification scripts for the Windows-based cheating tool SpoilerAL, or saved states in the StegSolve steganography application.
Because .ssg serves entirely different purposes depending on the originating software, standard online converters usually fail to process it. An Adobe 3D snapshot is locked into a proprietary ecosystem that requires a paid subscription and heavy desktop software to open. Game save files are completely useless outside of their specific game engines, as they only contain coordinate and state data. They cannot be directly converted into media files like video or audio.
Despite these rigid limitations, extraction is often the best workaround. Adobe Dimension .ssg files are structurally identical to standard ZIP archives. By renaming the file extension, users can extract the embedded internal assets, such as PNG textures or OBJ 3D models. Similarly, StegSolve state files are essentially encrypted PNG images under the hood. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your SSG file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The SSG Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our SSG converter.
