Working with .SR files is incredibly restrictive. DICOM .SR files are deeply proprietary and cannot be opened natively by web browsers, standard text editors, or default operating system viewers. Sharing a diagnostic report with a patient or an external doctor requires expensive, specialized medical software. Similarly, hardware .SR session files require the exact version of the logic analyzer software used to capture the data. If you send a trace to a colleague who does not have the right tools installed, the file is practically useless.
