To convert other file formats to the "Experiment Reaction Data" file type, you need software like Cedrus SuperLab or a similar tool.
About SD1 files
The .SD1 file extension primarily represents a SuperLab Experiment Data File developed by Cedrus Corporation. It is heavily used in psychology and neuroscience research to store reaction times, stimulus events, and participant responses. Alternatively, some .SD1 files are actually mobile phone video files created by older Samsung devices, and less frequently, data from FittsTask experiment software.
The major disadvantage of the .SD1 data format is its proprietary lock-in. Researchers cannot easily parse or run statistical analysis on these files without an active, expensive license for SuperLab. This creates severe bottlenecks when collaborating with peers who use SPSS, R, or Microsoft Excel. Meanwhile, Samsung's video implementation uses the .SD1 extension to obscure standard MP4 video streams, causing modern media players, video editors, and web browsers to reject the file outright due to an unrecognized extension.
To make your files usable, you must convert them. For scientific data archiving and statistical analysis, convert .SD1 to CSV or TXT. If you are dealing with a Samsung video file, converting it to MP4 or WebM is essential for web playback and compatibility with modern media players. Just drag and drop your file here to analyze and convert it - free, online, and without installing software.

The SD1 Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our SD1 converter.
