Extract text from RPTDESIGN files

The problem with .RPTDESIGN files is that they are engineering blueprints, not consumable documents. You cannot double-click them to view a sales report or invoice; they must be processed by the BIRT engine to fetch data and render the output. Accessing them natively requires installing the complex and resource-heavy Eclipse IDE, which is impractical for managers or end-users who simply need to view the information. Furthermore, because they rely on specific data source connections (like SQL databases), the file might fail to render if you lack network access to those servers.
The solution is to render or convert the design into a portable format. For finalized distribution and archiving, convert to PDF. If you need to manipulate the data tables yourself, convert the output to Microsoft Excel (XLSX). For web integration, HTML is the standard target.
