About RPL files
The .RPL file format is highly fragmented, most commonly functioning as a Game Replay file. Physics-based titles like BeamNG.drive, fighting games like Toribash, and strategy games like Red Alert 2 use this format to record in-game events. Rather than storing actual video frames, these replay files store coordinate data, engine physics states, or simple scripts. The format also has major non-gaming applications. It is frequently used as a Ukrainian tax reporting container by accounting software like FREDO ZVIT and M.E.Doc. Furthermore, it appears as an industrial report layout in Siemens SIMATIC WinCC and as an obsolete ARMovie video file from 1990s CD-ROM games. This extreme fragmentation makes the .RPL format incredibly confusing for users. The most common and frustrating scenario is attempting to convert a game replay .RPL file into an MP4 video. Because the replay contains no video stream, standard media converters will instantly fail. You cannot natively convert a physics coordinate file into a video file.
