Convert RKT to another file type
To convert RKT Racket files to another format, you need DrRacket or other Developer software.
Convert a file to RKT
To convert other file formats to the "Lisp-Scheme Source Code" file type, you need software like DrRacket or a similar tool.
About RKT files
A .RKT file most commonly stores source code written in Racket, a multi-paradigm programming language in the Lisp-Scheme family. These files contain plain text instructions that developers use to build applications, define new languages, or script macros. Alternatively, a smaller percentage of .RKT files are generated by RockSim, a commercial model rocket design and simulation program created by Apogee Components.
To write and execute Racket source files, developers typically use DrRacket, the official IDE, or standard text editors like VS Code or Notepad++. For the simulation files, aerospace hobbyists rely exclusively on Apogee RockSim. Wikipedia's entry on Racket provides extensive context on the programming language itself.
Non-developers often struggle with .RKT files because they lack specialized IDEs and do not understand Lisp syntax. Sharing source code in its raw form with clients or project managers often results in formatting errors or confusion. Meanwhile, RockSim files are proprietary, requiring an expensive commercial license to open, making collaboration and blueprint sharing difficult.
Converting .RKT (Racket) files to TXT, PDF, or HTML makes the code easily readable for documentation or code-review purposes, though native execution capability is lost. RockSim .RKT files can sometimes be exported to CSV or PDF to share flight telemetry and blueprints, but the interactive 3D simulation elements will be completely discarded.
Proprietary formats like RockSim designs are notoriously difficult to convert because the internal data structure is closed-source. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the 3D and physics data. However, standard online converters frequently fail to process even plain text .RKT source files simply due to an unrecognized extension. Even if it is a complex simulation file, our tools can often extract raw text or embedded standard formats.
Convert.Guru analyzes your RKT file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert RKT file to JS, TS, PY, JAVA, CPP, C, CS, PHP, RB, GO, RS or SWIFT, you can use DrRacket or similar software from the "Source Code File" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert SH, PY, KT, PS1, SWIFT, LUA, PL, JAVA, SCALA, JS, VBS or TS files to RKT, try DrRacket or another comparable tool in the "Source Code File" category.
The RKT Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our RKT converter.
