About RFP files
The .RFP file extension is predominantly used for RoboForm Passcard login files, developed by Siber Systems. These files securely store user login credentials, encrypted passwords, and automated form-fill data for website authentication.
The primary disadvantage of the .RFP format is its strict, proprietary nature. It is heavily encrypted to protect sensitive data, meaning you cannot open or read these files in a standard text editor or web browser. Accessing your own passwords requires the original RoboForm software and your exact master password. If that password is lost, the .RFP file becomes completely unreadable and the data is locked forever.
Users typically want to convert .RFP files to open formats like CSV or JSON to migrate their passwords to competing password managers like Bitwarden, KeePass, or 1Password. Standard online converters consistently fail to process .RFP files because they cannot bypass Siber Systems' proprietary encryption.
Beyond password management, .RFP is also used as a game resource package for video games like Exanima and Resident Evil 4. In this context, it acts as an archive holding 3D models, textures, and sounds, often packed using proprietary methods or standard zlib compression. Additionally, hardware companies like RAE Systems and Raritan use the .RFP extension for firmware update packages, some of which are strictly structured in XML format.
Because these file formats are notoriously difficult to open or convert, often only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format - such as an unencrypted XML manifest in a Raritan firmware package or an extractable zlib container from a game asset - viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your RFP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The RFP Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our RFP converter.
