About RFC files
The .RFC file extension is primarily associated with Ravenfield Content Files, which are game mod asset packages used by the indie first-person shooter Ravenfield. Under the hood, these files use the UnityFS (Unity File System) format to store compiled 3D models, textures, audio, and scripts for custom weapons, maps, and vehicles. Alternatively, a fraction of .RFC files are RoboForm Contact Files, used by the password manager RoboForm to store identity and contact data.
These formats present severe challenges for users. .RFC files are heavily proprietary. Ravenfield mods are compiled Unity asset bundles that are not meant to be opened directly or previewed by standard file browsers. Standard image or 3D converters cannot read them because the internal assets are packed and compressed specifically for the Unity Engine. Modders might want to extract textures to PNG or 3D models to FBX or OBJ, but this requires highly specialized reverse-engineering tools like AssetStudio. Similarly, RoboForm contacts are locked behind proprietary database schemas that demand an active software installation to export to a standard CSV or VCF.
Because of these technical barriers, this file format is notoriously difficult to open or convert online. Standard web tools fail to parse compiled UnityFS headers or proprietary databases. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. However, you can use convert.guru to inspect the file. Drag and drop your file to see what it is and convert it if supported. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format - such as standard asset headers or unencrypted text - viewing or extraction may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your RFC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted RFC822, RFC822-HEADERS, RFCREPORT, RTF, EML, TXT, 4, UNTITLED, ZIP, IPV, UNITYWEB, LEVEL12 and ANDROID files.

The RFC Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our RFC converter.
