Extract text from Split RAR archives (R07)

A .R07 file is typically the eighth volume in a sequence of a split RAR archive. This legacy naming convention (preceding the modern .part8.rar style) breaks large datasets into smaller, manageable chunks - often to bypass email attachment limits or FAT32 file system restrictions. You cannot open or convert a .R07 file in isolation; it is like having only page 80 of a 100-page book. To access the data, you must possess the preceding volumes (R00 through .R06) and the subsequent volumes in the same directory.
The primary frustration users face is the "CRC Error" or "Unexpected End of Archive" message, which almost always indicates a missing or corrupted volume part. Because RAR is a proprietary format maintained by RARLAB, browser support is non-existent, and you typically need dedicated software like WinRAR or 7-Zip to handle the reassembly.
For most users, the goal is not to keep the split files but to merge them. Once verified, the best practice is to extract the contents and convert the archive into a single ZIP file for universal compatibility across Windows and macOS without needing third-party tools. For long-term storage, converting the extracted data to 7Z or TAR.GZ is preferred for better compression and integrity. In rare enterprise environments, a .R07 file might contain user counter data from Sharp multifunction printers, which is generally not human-readable.
