Convert a file to QDF

To convert other file formats to the "Financial Database & Form" file type, you need software like Quicken or Snapform or a similar tool.

About QDF files

.QDF files are primarily used for Snapform electronic tax forms or as the main financial database for Quicken personal finance software. They are also utilized by Teklynx Label Matrix for barcode label designs.

These files are typically opened using Snapform Viewer, Intuit Quicken (see Quicken on Wikipedia), or Teklynx label software.

The .QDF format is highly fragmented and problematic. A Quicken .QDF is a proprietary, closed Microsoft Compound file that holds encrypted, sensitive financial data. This locks you firmly into their ecosystem and requires an ongoing subscription to access your own financial records. A Snapform .QDF is often a niche XML or BZ2 archive built specifically for Swiss tax authorities, making it essentially useless outside of that specific administrative context.

If you are leaving Quicken, your best conversion targets are CSV or QIF for importing into modern accounting tools. For Snapform documents, converting to PDF is the only logical choice for standard document sharing.

This file format is difficult to open or convert directly. Quicken files, in particular, are famously locked down, and often only the original software can properly read or export the financial data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format - like plain XML or a ZIP container - viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your QDF file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted QDF-BACKUP, PDF, QFX, QDT, QXF, QEL, QSD, QPF, DFQ, QIF, QUICKEN, TXT and ZIP files.
