Convert a file to PX
To convert other file formats to the "Statistical Data Table" file type, you need software like PX-Win or a similar tool.
About PX files
The .PX file extension primarily represents a PC-Axis Statistical Data Table. These files are used by European and Nordic statistical institutions, such as Statistics Sweden and the Swiss Federal Statistical Office, to distribute large datasets. Alternatively, a .PX file might be a Borland Paradox database primary index file or a Tridium Niagara presentation XML file. Opening a PC-Axis .PX file typically requires PX-Win, an outdated and highly specialized desktop software. This creates significant barriers for modern data analysts. The format bundles metadata, like variable names and multilingual labels, with raw data arrays, making it confusing to parse without the right tools. Borland Paradox .PX files present a different problem. They are proprietary binary index files. They only store sorting rules, not the actual database records, meaning they are completely useless without the accompanying DB file. Users frequently need to convert PC-Axis .PX files to CSV, XLSX, or JSON to analyze the data in Microsoft Excel or Python. When converting to CSV, some multilingual metadata may be lost, but the core numerical data becomes instantly usable. Standard online converters almost always fail to process .PX files because they cannot distinguish between the specialized PC-Axis syntax, the proprietary Paradox binary structure, and the Tridium XML layout. Paradox .PX files are closed, proprietary formats that standard online converters cannot process. Even if the file is a complex Paradox index, our tool can inspect the file and show text or internal data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your PX file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert PX file to REM, EM, PT, VW, DP, JPG, PDF, PNG, GIF, BMP, TIFF or TIF, you can use PX-Win or similar software from the "Statistical Data Distribution" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert RAW, PNG, AI, NEF, PSB, DNG, SVG, GIF, EPS, JPG, ARW or PDF files to PX, try PX-Win or another comparable tool in the "Statistical Data Distribution" category.
The PX Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our PX converter.
