About PGL files

The .pgl extension represents a frustrating dichotomy in digital file management: it is either a modern web template or a legacy engineering graphic.

1. Pagelayer Saved Section (Web Format):
If you downloaded this file from a WordPress repository or marketplace, it is a serialized data file used by the Pagelayer WordPress plugin. These files contain layout structure, widget settings, and CSS styles for a specific section of a webpage.

2. HP Plotter Language (Vector Graphic):
If this file originated from an architectural firm, engineering archive, or legacy system, it is likely a variation of the HPGL (Hewlett-Packard Graphics Language) format. These are vector instruction sets used to drive pen plotters.

Convert.Guru analyzes your PGL file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted TXT, JPEG, PDF, JPG, OVPN, ANOM and TLS files.

The PGL Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our PGL converter.
