About PDM files

A .PDM file is a Physical Data Model created by SAP PowerDesigner (formerly Sybase). It serves as a technical blueprint for a database, defining tables, columns, keys, and relationships specific to a database platform like Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server. While powerful for architects, .PDM files create significant friction for teams: they are often saved in a complex XML structure that is difficult to interpret without the expensive PowerDesigner software. Stakeholders, developers, and managers typically cannot view the diagrams or logic without a license. To make this data usable, users convert .PDM files to SQL scripts for database generation, PDF documents for architectural review, or PNG/JPEG images for visual documentation.

Convert.Guru analyzes your PDM file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted PMD, PDF, PLAN, BPB, TXP, CDM and PCM files.

The PDM Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our PDM converter.
