About TXP files

The .TXP file format is heavily fragmented, primarily functioning as an XML-based Database Model for Quest Toad Data Modeler and SAP PowerDesigner. Alternatively, it is widely used as a proprietary HMI (Human-Machine Interface) project file for Xinje TWinSoft industrial touch panels, an orthodontic treatment plan from 3Shape Ortho System, or even a guitar amplifier tone model for IK Multimedia ToneX.

These files suffer from severe software lock-in. Because the .TXP extension is shared across highly disparate, specialized industries - from dental imaging to DOS-based tax receipt generation - users frequently encounter 'unrecognized file' errors. Without an active license for a $500+ database modeling tool or specialized medical software, opening the file natively is impossible. Furthermore, these proprietary environments often lack basic export functionalities, making it frustrating to share data with clients or colleagues who do not own the exact same software version.

When attempting to convert a .TXP file, your target format depends entirely on its internal structure. Database models are best converted to standard XML or SQL for universal readability. Dental scans and 3Shape exports are actually structured as ZIP archives, meaning you can extract underlying 3D models or PDF reports. Xinje HMI files are closed binary systems that ideally should be exported to PDF or JPG from within the original software.

Due to the proprietary nature of these vastly different tools, external conversion is notoriously difficult. Generic online converters fail because they do not know if they are dealing with a text-based database, a compressed dental scan, or a binary guitar preset. Often, only the original authoring software can properly read or export the data. Our deep-scan analysis can detect supported underlying formats (like embedded XML or ZIP), meaning viewing or extracting the content may still be fully possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your TXP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted ZIP, MOO, OOM and CDM files.

The TXP Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our TXP converter.
