To convert other file formats to the "Simulation Parameter File" file type, you need software like PVsyst or a similar tool.
About PAN files
A .pan file primarily functions as a Photovoltaic Module Parameter file used by PVsyst, a standard software for simulating solar power systems. These files store specific electrical, mechanical, and behavioral data for solar panels in a structured UTF-8 text format. Secondary uses for the .pan extension include Panoramic Virtual Tour images created by software like Pano2VR or Easypano, as well as legacy library bibliographic records conforming to the ISO 2709 standard.
The main drawback of .pan files is their application-specific nature. If you receive a PVsyst .pan file but do not hold an expensive PVsyst license, you cannot natively run solar simulations or comfortably compare panel specs. The data is locked into a rigid text layout that spreadsheet tools struggle to parse automatically. For the panorama image variants, .pan is a proprietary container that standard image viewers and web browsers flatly reject, making sharing a headache.
To make this data usable, conversion is highly recommended. Drop your file here to view and convert it securely right in your browser. For PVsyst parameter data, convert to CSV or TXT to easily import the technical specifications into Microsoft Excel for comparative analysis. If you are dealing with a visual panorama, convert it to JPG or WebP for immediate web embedding, or PNG for lossless archiving.
Use Convert.Guru to open and convert your PAN file.
If you want to convert PAN file to NRI, DB, SQLITE, SQLITE3, MDB, ACCDB, DBF, ODB, FDB or GDB, you can use PVsyst or similar software from the "Photovoltaic Module Parameters" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert NDF, SQLITE3, BAK, RDB, SQL, DB4, MDF, MDB, LDF, DB, DB3 or SQLITE files to PAN, try PVsyst or another comparable tool in the "Photovoltaic Module Parameters" category.
The PAN Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our PAN converter.
