Extract text from openCanvas drawings (OCI)

The .OCI file is a proprietary raster graphic format used by openCanvas, a digital illustration software developed by PGN Inc. This format natively stores multi-layered digital paintings, including specific blending modes, brush strokes, and layer masks.
Because it is a closed, proprietary format, .OCI files are extremely restrictive outside of the openCanvas ecosystem. You cannot open an .OCI file natively in web browsers, default OS image viewers, or industry-standard tools like Adobe Photoshop. If you do not own a license or have the software installed, you are locked out of viewing your own artwork.
To share your art online or collaborate with other designers, you must convert .OCI files. Converting to PSD is ideal for retaining layers and transparency, while PNG or JPG are best for flattened web delivery. Converting to a flattened format will permanently merge your layers.
