About NVC files
The .NVC file is a proprietary video editing project file primarily created by Nero Vision. It functions as a blueprint, storing timeline edits, transition data, and hard drive paths to your original audio and video media. The biggest disadvantage of an .NVC file is that it is not a playable video container. Because it only contains references, these files usually weigh only a few kilobytes and cannot be opened by standard media players like VLC or web browsers. Furthermore, if you move or delete the original media files on your local storage, the .NVC project will break completely, resulting in frustrating 'missing media' errors. To a lesser extent, .NVC files are also used as NoviSign digital signage creatives, NVIDIA emulator cache files for the Nintendo Switch, or Nikon vignette correction data. To share your edited video, you must convert the project into a standard format. For web streaming and broad compatibility, convert to MP4. For high-quality archiving, MKV is ideal.
