About NDC files
The .NDC file extension is primarily associated with Nero DiscSpeed (formerly Nero CD-DVD Speed), a utility used to benchmark the performance of optical drives (CD, DVD, Blu-ray). These files contain binary or structured text data representing transfer rates, seek times, and CPU usage graphs generated during a drive test. The main problem users face is that .NDC files are proprietary logs; they cannot be opened by standard image viewers, web browsers, or text editors. To share benchmark results on forums or include them in hardware reviews, users must convert these files into standard image formats like JPG or PNG, or document formats like PDF.
A secondary but significant use case is the IBM Personal Communications Settings File. In this enterprise context, the file stores configuration data for terminal emulation sessions (connecting to Mainframes/AS400). These files often contain critical host IP addresses, port settings, and macro references. Because they are specific to the IBM Personal Communications suite, they are useless without the software installed. Converting them to TXT or XML allows administrators to audit configurations or migrate settings to modern terminal emulators without paying for legacy licensing.
Convert.Guru analyzes your NDC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted NPF, NDP, NPI, UPC and GPI files.

The NDC Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our NDC converter.
