About MTF files
An .MTF file is primarily used as a computerized test or exam module for the MyTestXPro educational assessment suite. Alternatively, musicians encounter .MTF files as multitrack audio stem containers generated by the Moises AI music app, and gamers use them as BattleTech 'Mech design files in the open-source MegaMek simulator.
The main disadvantage of the .MTF format is its fragmented, proprietary nature. If your file is a MyTestXPro exam, it is a closed, encrypted format designed specifically to prevent cheating. You cannot natively open it in a web browser or standard document editor, which forces students and teachers to rely entirely on the restrictive MyTestStudent software. If your file is a Moises AI audio file, it acts as a container bundling separated vocal, drum, and bass tracks, which are inaccessible to standard media players until properly extracted. MegaMek files, while simpler, are still highly specific text configurations that are useless outside the game's engine.
For Moises audio files, the best conversion targets are standard WAV or MP3 files, which can be achieved by extracting the underlying ZIP archive. MegaMek files can easily be converted to TXT or XML since they are just plain-text configurations. However, educational MyTest files are notoriously difficult to convert to PDF or DOCX because standard online converters cannot bypass the developer's encryption. Even though .MTF files belong to closed ecosystems, our advanced analysis will inspect the file signature to determine if it contains readable text, embedded audio, or a standard ZIP archive, allowing you to extract supported content seamlessly.
Convert.Guru analyzes your MTF file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The MTF Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our MTF converter.
